We're Here To Cycle and Race

We run club rides on Sunday mornings and 10-mile time trial races over the summer months on a Wednesday evening. With winter Thursday evening indoors sessions as well.

If you are passionate about cycling and racing, and would like to share this passion with other like-minded individuals, why not join North Devon Wheelers Cycling Club.

Club 10 Mile TT's for 2021 are starting on WEDNESDAY May 12th at 19:00

The HQ is Bishop Tawton Village Hall EX33 0AB

Because of Covid restrictions the following conditions apply:

  • • All entries are in advance using webscorer NO entries on the night.
  • • The village hall is open to sign on only no refreshments no after race results, no changing.
  • • Please bring your own pen to sign on.
  • • NO changing at the Hall, toilets are open but not for changing.
  • • Social distancing MUST be observed at all times during the event.
  • • Results will be available on webscorer straight after the race.
  • The are two events available to enter

  • Non aero event:
  • Road bikes with standard handle bars NO add on's or extensions of any type, rim depth no greater than 50mm, no aero helmets, no skin suits, no aero overshoes
  • Open event:
  • Anything which complies with CTT regulations is permitted.
  • The non aero event will be run first with the open event running straight after without any gap in set off times. If you want to do both you will have to enter both events on webscorer and we will do our best to place you so that you have time to complete one and get to the start for the second. If however there are insufficient numbers entered and there isn’t sufficient time for you to get back to the start of the open event you will forfeit your entry fee.

    Entries on webscorer will close at 17:00 on the preceding Monday and the start sheet will be available no later than the preceding Tuesday evening. If there are insufficient numbers (10 is the minimum because of costs) the event will be called off and refunds issued. Once the event is on there will be no refunds for non starts, NO exceptions.

    Costs are £7:00 for NDW members, £10:00 for non members all ages all categories.

    ALL under 18’s must have a parent or legally recognised guardian signed disclaimer (you can sign one for the entire season) a hard copy MUST be left at signing on BEFORE any under 18 can ride. Failure to do so will result in DQ’d.

    NO RED LIGHT, NO HELMET = NO RIDE (any person citing that the CTT rules permit riding without a helmet will be politely invited to race elsewhere as its down to organiser discretion).

    Results will be tallied through the season there are 17 events across the season and the results of your best 9 will count towards the overall seasons results. Categories will be male and female as follow:

  • • Overall
  • • Youth
  • • Junior
  • • Senior
  • • Vet - 40 to 60
  • • Super Vet - 60 +
  • Overall Male and Female - First place scores 20 points down to 20th place with 1 point and all positions after that will score 1 point.

    Age categories Male and Female same system.

    In addition there will be a club championship 10 night a championship 25 will be held on a SW course and our 50 will be the club championship.

    Prizes will be awarded at the club dinner Covid permitting

    Join Us For A Ride

    Why not join us for a ride? Whether you want to work on your technique or just get out for a spin, we have rides that suit most people. And don’t worry about pace, we include everyone!

    Wednesday
    Individual Time Trials

    • Meet: Bishop Tawton Village Hall EX33 0AB. Please park considerately.
      Enter from 6pm, first rider starts 7pm. Riders set off at 1-minute intervals
    • Distance: 10-miles (5 miles out and back). All abilities welcome. From 12 years of age.
    • Pace: Individual race against the clock and your mates.
    • Mood: Get ready to race fast and break your PB.

    Sunday (ALL YEAR)
    Road

    • Meet: Barnstaple Square - 8:30am
    • Distance: Typically 50 - 80 miles.
    • Pace: To match group(s') ability. Typically 17-19mph average speed.
    • Mood: A decent workout, with an ever-changing route and a coffee stop! A great way get involved with the club.
